Ellevation Scholarship
​
DEADLINE: May 15th
AMOUNT: $2,000
Ellevation awards five $2,000 scholarships to deserving (English Learners) EL students so they may pursue their higher education. In order to be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must:
  • Be a high school senior who has been enrolled as an English Language Learner (ELL) at some point during their K-12 education.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two or four year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire 2022-2023 academic year

Kim Frans Creative Arts Scholarship

The Blue KC Scholarship 
​
DEADLINE: May 31st
AMOUNT: $10,000

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City (Blue KC) established The Blue KC Scholarship in Honor of Danette K. Wilson in May 2019.
The $10,000 scholarship will be awarded to an incoming freshman pursuing a business or healthcare degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Applicant must be:
-An incoming freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
-In pursuit of a business or healthcare degree

Completed applications are due no later than 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022. Applications and any questions about the application or scholarship should be emailed to BlueKCHusker@gmail.com.

Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship

AMOUNT: $750

One $750.00 award will be awarded, annually. (1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award. (2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic and leadership abilities. The nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities. (4) Must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.

M.D. "Jack" Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Fund
​
DEADLINE: April 22nd
AMOUNT: $1,000

Currently one $1,000 award is given each year, and may, by application, be extended for a second year.  This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse, and may be used in their freshman or subsequent college years.  The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class or have a "C" or equivalent standing from their last college or university semester.  Scholarships are awarded for one year, payable $375 per semester.

Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship (Boys/Girls State Attendees)

AMOUNT: $1,000
Two awards of $1,000 each are given each year. A boy who has attended or has been selected to attend The American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy. The second award is given to a girl who has attended or has been selected to attend The American Legion Auxiliary's Girls State program or a full session of the Department's Cadet Patrol Academy.

Joseph J. Frank Scholarship

AMOUNT: $750

Five awards of $750.00 are given annually to individuals who are descendants of a veteran. Applicant must have attended the 2021 or has been selected to attend the 2022 session of The American Legion Boys State or The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program. Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the state of Missouri and must use the scholarship as a full time student in an accredited college or university.

Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship

AMOUNT: $750
Two $750.00 awards are given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this Past National Executive Committeeman from Missouri.  To be eligible, individuals must:  (1) be a descendant* of a veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed forces and having an honorable discharge; (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; (4) provide a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the application is made; and (6) submit an essay of 500 words or less on the
subject     In your opinion, what was the most significant world event of this past year?

Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship

AMOUNT: $750

Two awards of $750.00 are given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion.  Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of The American Legion, or a descendant* of a member of any thereof.  Applicants must be unmarried, a resident of Missouri, under the age of 21, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student in an accredited college or university and.

#RAREis Scholarship

DEADLINE: April 22nd
AMOUNT: $5,000
The #RAREis Scholarship Fund was established in 2020 to help young adults with rare diseases to pursue their dreams through education. This scholarship is dedicated to the rare disease community. The #RAREis Scholarship Fund will award up to 53 $5,000 scholarships for the Fall 2022 semester. The scholarship application is open, March 18 through April 22, 2022 at rarescholarship.org
The #RAREis Scholarship is available to applicants who are:
  • Over the age of 17
  • Residents of the United States
  • Diagnosed by a physician as having any form of rare disease regardless of treatment status. Undiagnosed patients are also encouraged to apply. 
Must be planning to enroll full-time or part-time in undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical/trade school for the Fall 2022 semester. There is no minimum amount of credit hours to be part-time

Platte County Farm Bureau Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 14
​AMOUNT: $1,000
The Platte County Farm Bureau will award a $1,000 Scholarship to a graduating senior whom will attend an accredited college or university.
 
To be eligible for the scholarship the student, parent(s) or legal guardian must be a member of Platte County Farm Bureau for at least two years.
 
The $1,000 Scholarship will be paid for the student’s first semester expense for room and board, tuition or books.
 
The recipient will be selected by the scholarship committee of Platte County Farm Bureau based upon the following:

  1. Information on Application
  2. Teacher Evaluations (2)
  3. Letter of recommendation(Someone other than a school official or personal relative)
  4. Personal Interview
  5. Please provide a picture of yourself
 
All forms must be returned to the Platte County Farm Bureau office by April 14th in order to qualify.  If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the Platte County Farm Bureau office.

Parkville Rotary Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 8th
​AMOUNT: $2,000
The Parkville Rotary will give $2,000 scholarships to eligible seniors. Students need to focus on the essay and the Rotary's 4-Way Test.

Chapter IJ P.E.O. Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the P.E.O. Sisterhood for a female student.  PEO assists women in education. This year's scholarship is for a PHS senior!

* Female graduate of Park Hill South HS
* Female must plan to pursue a post-secondary program at a 2 or 4 year institution
* Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75

Ryan Grace Memorial Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 8th
​AMOUNT: There will be up to 3 scholarships given out each year. 
This scholarship benefits graduating youth whose lives have been affected by organ donation.

Wells Bank Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 1st 
​AMOUNT: $1,500
Wells Bank will sponsor $1,500 college scholarships for high school seniors in Platte County, Andrew County, Holt County and Nodaway County. The scholarship is to be used towards enrollment of a four-year university. The scholarships will be payable as follows: $1,000 the first year and $500 the second year. To receive $500 the second year, the student must have maintained a 3.0 grade point average their first year while enrolled as a full time student.

First Student Career &  Vocational Scholarship (Park Hill students only)
DEADLINE: March 31st 
​AMOUNT: $1,000
This $1,000 scholarship is designed to support Park Hill School District graduating seniors who will be following a career path in vocational education.
Examples of vocational education are: business (office administration, entrepreneurship); trade and industrial (e.g., automotive technician, carpenter, computer numerical control technician); health occupations (nursing, dental, and medical technicians); agriculture (food and fiber production, agribusiness); family and consumer sciences (culinary arts, family management and life skills); marketing (merchandising, retail); and technology (computer-based careers).

Chapter JK P.E.O. Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 31st
​AMOUNT: $1,000

P.E.O. is a women’s organization which celebrates the advancement of women, supports educational opportunities for women, and motivates women to achieve their highest aspirations.
 
The members of Chapter JK of P.E.O. invite women from the class of 2022 to apply for a $1,000 scholarship.  The purpose of this scholarship is to help support study at a college or university of the applicant’s choice for the 2022-2023 school year.  This is a one-time scholarship opportunity which may be used for tuition, books, supplies, or room and board. 
This college scholarship is open to senior women graduating from Park Hill School District or Liberty School District high schools with a minimum 3.2 GPA.  A successful applicant will have demonstrated her ability in self-advocacy through her responses to requests for information in this application.

Chandler/Turner Family Scholarship

This scholarship honors the legacy of the Chandler parents, Ellen and James Chandler Senior who were strong visionaries with their children in encouraging higher education. Our greatest interest is students who wish to enter the field of education and health care.

MCC Wolves Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 25th to Mrs. Sharp
​AMOUNT: $1,500
Metropolitan Community College (MCC) has a proud history of promoting excellence in education. The MCC Wolves Scholarship is designed to help achieve that goal by recognizing students who demonstrate the skills and knowledge necessary for entering higher education. PHS will pick ONE application to submit! 
General Eligibility:
 Applicant must be a graduating senior from one of the 27 public high schools in the MCC in-district service area.
 The high school counselor must recommend the applicant to MCC. One recommendation per high school will be accepted.
 Applicant must demonstrate college readiness.
 Applicant must be admitted to MCC as a regular degree or certificate seeking student.
 Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Woman Legislators of Missouri Scholarship

​AMOUNT: $1,000
Members of the Women Legislators of Missouri sponsor this scholarship program for young women graduating high school in Missouri. This is a one time $1,000 scholarship.

Applicants must be:
  • Female
  • Missouri resident
  • Current high school senior
  • Graduating from a public high school, private high school or home school in Missouri this year

Liberty Hospital Foundation Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 23
AMOUNT: $3,000

New Liberty Hospital District ("Liberty Hospital") and Liberty Hospital Foundation (“Foundation”) may provide nursing scholarships to high school seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher wishing to study nursing full time in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

The scholarship for a student wishing to earn the Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing will be a one-time, non-renewable award determined each year by the Liberty Hospital Foundation. The amount and number of scholarships may vary year to year. In 2022, the award amount will be $3,000.

To be eligible for consideration, the applicant must 1) be, on March 23, 2022, a high school senior that wishes to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, 2) Have maintained an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, 3) Have been accepted to and intend to attend a four year College or University, 4) complete and submit a timely formal application and be available to interview with the Selection Committee. The following Scholarship Application Guidelines apply to the Bachelors Degree in Nursing Scholarship program.

Black Achievers Scholarship

AMOUNT: $1,000
Each year the Black Achievers Society awards scholarships to area high school students. This year we are proud to announce the availability of several $1,000 scholarships for African American graduating seniors with a cumulative 3.7 or higher grade point average.
Students must attend a high school in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area to be eligible. 
 Scholarship criteria:

Parkville Fine Arts Scholarship Fund
DEADLINE: March 15th
​AMOUNT: $1,000
The Parkville Fine Arts Association (PFAA) Scholarship Fund provides annual scholarships to graduating seniors of Park Hill School District. The scholarships are intended to assist students who are pursuing higher education in the field of fine arts. Fine arts are defined as music, drama or the visual or performing arts.
​


Students eligible for assistance must meet the following:
  1. Be a graduating senior of a high school in the Park Hill School District;
  2. Must have a high school GPA of at least 2.75 (based on a 4.0 grade point system);
  3. Must show demonstrated talent in at least one area of fine arts; and
  4. Must be enrolling in a college or university with a declared major in at least one area of fine arts.

Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship

AMOUNT: $1,000
The Missouri Bankers Foundation provides college scholarships for graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue college studies in banking-related degree programs. 
 
Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to seven high school students for their first semester tuition payment and/or college expenses. One scholarship recipient will be chosen from each of the seven MBA geographical regions

Excellence in Education Scholarship (Northland  Chamber of Commerce)

Marion H. Bloch Scholars Program
DEADLINE: March 1st
AMOUNT: Full tuition and fees for up to five years

This scholarship supports local students with achievements in academics, leadership and community engagement.

To be considered for the program, students must:
  • Live in one of these five area counties: Clay, Jackson and Platte in Missouri, and Johnson and Wyandotte in Kansas

  • Have an ACT score of 25 or above and a core GPA of 3.6 or above or have a 3.75 Core GPA or above 

  • Demonstrate leadership and/or involvement in community engagement activities
  • Plan to enroll full time in a standard undergraduate program (students entering professional programs are not eligible)
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

2022 Evergy Craft Scholarships
DEADLINE: March 1st
AMOUNT: $3,000
Evergy will be awarding yearly scholarships in the amount of $3,000 and renewable
up to two years for students seeking to pursue degrees/certifications in electrical
power and distribution (line worker) or wind/renewable energy
at a local community
college or trade school.
**Evergy recognizes females and diverse candidates are traditionally underrepresented in
skilled craft roles, therefore women and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply.

Eligibility requirements:
• Must be a graduating high school senior attending a Kansas or Missouri high school
• Must be pursuing a degree or certification toward a line worker/electric power and distribution or in wind/renewable energy.
• Must apply for financial aid. (This includes, but is not limited to, PELL Grants, A+ Program, scholarships, loans, etc.)
• Must enroll and maintain a full-time status and 2.5 GPA in your technical/craft program to receive scholarship award.
• If 18, must be willing to submit to a Motor Vehicle Record Check (drug free with no DUI convictions).
• Must be eligible to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (line worker scholarship only).
• Students from the Evergy service areas will have priority over students living outside of the Evergy service area.

Henry W. Bloch Scholars Program
DEADLINE: March 1st
AMOUNT: Full tuition and fees for up to five years

The Henry W. Bloch Scholars Program was created for local students with a determination to succeed, regardless of their finances, test scores or life circumstances. It does not require a certain GPA, ACT score or class rank to apply.

To be considered for the program, students must: 
  • Live in one of these five area counties: Clay, Jackson and Platte in Missouri, and Johnson and Wyandotte in Kansas

  • Submit FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and demonstrate financial need (eligible or nearly eligible for the Federal Pell Grant Program)

  • Plan to enroll full time to earn a four-year degree in a standard undergraduate program (students entering professional programs are not eligible)
  • Be unable to receive other scholarships due to academic performance and/or life circumstances

Missouri Courage Scholarship (MCS)
DEADLINE: March 1
​AMOUNT: $500-$2,000

Applications will be comprehensively evaluated on a variety of metrics including: academic achievement, school involvement, community engagement, diversity, demonstrations of courage, and commitment to enhancing the lives of LGBTQ individuals and working toward social justice

Crowder College Business Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 1
​AMOUNT: $500 per semester; up to $2,000
Requirements:
• Must be a high school senior
• Must attend Crowder College during the Fall 2022 semester
• Must major in a business degree at Crowder College (A.A. Business Administration, A.A. Information Technology or A.A.S. Business – Accounting or Management) and declare this major prior to the Fall 2022 semester
• Must be a full-time student (minimum 12 hours per semester)
• Must enroll in at least one business class each semester (ACCT, BMGT, BSAD, ITC)
• Must have and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

Renewable for up to 3 consecutive semesters (fall/spring only) for a maximum award amount of $2,000.00

2021 Greater KC PFLAG/GLSEN Scholarship
​
DEADLINE: February 28
AMOUNT: $1,000
Kansas City chapters of PFLAG and GLSEN have joined to support young people in furthering their education. They have established scholarships for graduating high school students in the Greater Kansas City area who identify as LGBTQ+. The organizations will provide two $1000 scholarships for the post-secondary education (college, university, training, trade school) of two LGBTQ+ high school seniors in the greater Kansas City metropolitan area of Missouri and Kansas.

Brandon C. Fauntleroy-McDowel (BCFM)Scholarship

AMOUNT: $1,000
The Omicron Xi Lambda Education Foundation and the Omicron Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (a African American fraternity), Incorporated would like to invite your qualifying senior students to apply for the 2022 Brandon C. Fauntleroy-McDowel Scholarship. 
​In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be a male graduating senior from a high school in the Kansas City metropolitan area and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.  Male must also be accepted to an accredited university or college within the United States for the 2022-2023 academic year.

The Assistance League of KC Scholarship

AMOUNT: $1,000
Assistance League of Kansas City (ALKC) is offering scholarships to academically promising high school seniors who have demonstrable financial need to attend a college, university, or technical school/program located in the State of Missouri starting summer or fall 2022.
To be eligible:
  • Post-secondary educational institution located in the State of Missouri
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

​The Ellis Foundation Scholarship

The Ellis Foundation was started by the Ellis Family, who began awarding scholarships in memory of Kathy Ellis. Kathy was a dedicated school teacher who died of breast cancer in 1997. Since 1998, the foundation has invested over $20,000,000 in Education. In addition to the financial support, we also pair our scholarship with a mentoring program. We work primarily with students who are capable, deserving, and determined, but who might not be able to attend college without assistance. 

We are looking for students who have proven themselves to be hard working, dedicated and driven. Special emphasis will be given to students who exhibit these characteristics and have financial need. The degree choice for our traditional scholarship is open. The students need to attend one of our participating schools and meet the qualifications listed below. SCHOLARSHIP QUALIFICATIONS:

Kansas City Art Institute Scholarship

These scholarships are designed to support Park Hill School District graduating seniors who have demonstrated academic ability and perseverance in their continuing educational pursuits.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must fulfill at least two of the first three requirements plus fulfill the requirements for items 4, 5, and 6.

5. Applicant must prepare and submit answers to the (three) 3 scholarship questions provided.

SevenDays Make a Ripple, Change the World-Button Competition

SevenDays conducts an artistic design competition every year to determine the eight buttons that will represent each of their day themes (Love, Discover, Others, Connect, You, Go, and Onward) and the general SevenDays button.  Each winner receives a $250 prize, in addition to other opportunities for public recognition of students' artistic achievement. 
Competition Details
  • High school students (grades 9-12) in the Kansas City metro area are eligible to participate.
  • The deadline for all submissions is Friday, January 7, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. CST.

Regeneron Science Talent Search 2021

The Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS) is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science competition for high school seniors, providing an important forum for original research that is recognized and reviewed by a national jury of professional scientists. Alumni have made extraordinary contributions to science and have earned many of the world’s most distinguished science and math honors, including thirteen Nobel Prizes. Annually, around 1,800 high school seniors from around the country accept the challenge of conducting independent science, math or engineering research and completing an entry for the Regeneron Science Talent Search. The competition recognizes 300 student scholars and their schools each year and invites 40 student finalists to Washington, D.C. to participate in final judging, display their work to the public, and meet with notable scientists and government leaders. Each year, Regeneron STS scholars and finalists compete for $3.1 million in awards.

Patriot Guard Riders Scholarship

Hispanic Development Fund (HDF) Scholarship 
DEADLINE: March 1st
​AMOUNT: $$$

Students will first need to visit the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation's website. 
Once there, click on the “Sign Up” button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. If you're a returning scholar, click "Sign In".
  • Prior to the HDF Scholarship Application, you will need to fulfill the GKCCF general application. By doing so, you are also eligible for other scholarships offered by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Last year alone, HDF Scholars also received over $60,000 in additional scholarships.
  • Once the GKCCF General Application is complete, the HDF Scholarship application will become available to you as long as you meet the eligibility requirements (see below).

To qualify for an HDF Scholarship, students must be of Hispanic/Latino Heritage along with the following requirements:
1.    Graduating from a Greater Kansas City metropolitan area high school or obtain a general equivalency diploma (GED) from a local organization. (The Greater Kansas City metropolitan area is generally defined as Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte, Johnson and Wyandotte counties.)
2.    Attend/have attended a Greater Kansas City metropolitan area high school for the last three years prior to graduation.
3.    Accepted or enrolled in a fully accredited college or university and working toward an associate, bachelor, or graduate degree. (Applicants attending vocational or trade schools are ineligible.)
4.    Enroll or be enrolled as a full-time student. (A minimum 12 credit hours for undergraduate and 9 credit hours for graduate.)


Missouri STEM Signing Day Scholarship

Just like signing days for athletes, Missouri STEM Signing Day recognizes and celebrates outstanding Missouri high school students who are inspired by science, technology, engineering and math and want to pursue a STEM career pathway in college and beyond. On STEM Signing Day (April 29, 2021) a minimum of 10 students will receive a $1,000 scholarship to go toward their college costs and sign a letter of intent to pursue a STEM degree or certificate program at a Missouri post-secondary institution. Apply by March 1.

We are happy to announce that Evergy will once again be offering CRAFT SCHOLARSHIPS this year for students interested in line work (electric power and distribution) or wind energy!  These scholarships are valued at $3,000 each per year and renewable for 1 additional year.

The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 1
​AMOUNT: $2500 - $10,000
The American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year will receive a $10,000 scholarship. Three runner-up scholarship awards will be granted in the amount of $2,500 each.

The scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive their scholarship immediately upon graduation from high school and must utilize the total award within four years of their graduation date, excluding active military duty or religious mission.
The scholarship may be used to attend a school selected by the student provided it is state accredited, above the high school level, and within the continental limits of the United States.

Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships

AMOUNT: up to $30,000 for 4 years

Through its Education and Leadership Development Program, the Jackie Robinson Foundation provides scholarships of up to $30,000/four years to minority high school students showing leadership potential and demonstrating financial need to attend an accredited 4-year college or university of their choice.

To be eligible for a Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:
  • Be a graduating high school senior;
  • Plan to attend an accredited and approved four-year institution within the United States;
  • Show leadership potential;
  • Demonstrate a dedication to community service;

  • Be a United States citizen;

Asian American & Pacific Islander (APIA) Scholarship Fund

APIA SCHOLARS MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR 2021-2022 ACADEMIC YEAR:
  • Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census
  • Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply
  • Be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2021.

KLL Scholarship

True to Kelly’s dedicated spirit, the KLL Scholarship Foundation was established to help young adults achieve a college education. Each year the KLL Memorial Foundation will seek out eligible candidates to offer financial and emotional support as they pursue their dreams in the aftermath of cancer. 
 
Qualifications: To qualify, the recipient needs to meet the following criteria:

  1. Lost the life of at least one parent (biological or not) to cancer before the age of 22.
  2. Be a US citizen and live in Kansas or Missouri.
  3. Attend a 2- or 4-year (minimum) higher education establishment.
  4. Have an interest in education, arts, environment, math, or science.
  5. Show service involvement in the community, church, school, or other non-curricular activity.
  6. Indicate financial need.
  7. Submit the completed application, including personal essay and reference.
  8. Submit a copy of the parent’s death certificate.
  9. Submit a current picture of yourself and a family picture that includes the deceased parent.

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program
DEADLINE: January 5th 
AMOUNT: $10,000 
Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program and receive ongoing leadership-development support.
To be eligible for this award, applicants must:
  • demonstrate at school, at the workplace, and within the community the attributes of leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship;
  • demonstrate strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 grade point average/4.0 scale or equivalent);
  • be citizens of the United States of America;
  • be current high school seniors attending high school in the United States; and

K-State Wabash CannonBall Scholarship

AMOUNT: $2,500
Criteria:
  • High School Senior living in the greater KC area (Platte county is included)
  • Must be admitted to K-State and have completed the general scholarship application by Dec. 1.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 (weighted or un-weighted)
  • Complete the online Wabash CannonBall Scholarship application by Dec. 1.
  • Scholars will be paid half of the scholarship monies ($1,250) at the start of each semester with the requirement to maintain a 3.0 GPA in their first semester at K-State in order to earn the second half ($1,250) the second semester.
  • Scholarships will only be awarded to recipients enrolled in 12 or more credit hours at K-State per semester.
  • Freshmen recipients will have the opportunity to apply for renewal of the scholarship the following three years.

K-State In-State Tuition for MO Residents Scholarship

AMOUNT: 63% discount on tuition
The in-state rate is the result of the new Missouri Tuition Match Program. Under the program, a tuition discount equal to Kansas resident tuition is available to domestic Missouri residents who will be full-time, first-time freshmen at K-State starting in the fall 2021 academic semester. Tuition is reduced from the $841.70 per credit hour to $312.50 per credit hour — a 63% discount.

Crime Stoppers Scholarship

The Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline is sponsoring a scholarship contest. To be eligible, student must be a senior of good character with no criminal background. The applicant must provide two letters of recommendation from faculty members. The recommendation must state the student's accomplishments, grade average, class standing, activities and the reasons he/she deserves the award. 

In addition, each student must submit a typed essay of 70 to 1,000 words on the topic, "Is the 'defund the police' movement a viable alternative to the current way policing is administered in the United States? What alterntive means are available to take the place of police?"

Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation Access Extra Scholarship

The Missouri Scholarship and Loan Foundation’s Access Extra Scholarship is a private scholarship for high school seniors who are eligible for the Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program and who scored 27 or higher on the ACT.
Eligibility
Open to graduating high school seniors who meet ALL of the following criteria:
  • Will enroll full-time at a 4-year or 2-year Access Missouri participating school. Click here for a list of eligible schools
  • Are a Missouri resident
  • Meet the state’s Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program requirement of expected family contribution (EFC) of 12,000 or less
  • Scored 27 or higher on the ACT or the SAT equivalent
  • Have not yet received a first bachelor’s degree, completed the required hours for a bachelor’s degree, or completed 150 semester credit hours

​The Platte Valley Bank STAR Scholarship is meant to go to a student that has excelled in their effort to 
overcome adversities and challenges in their personal and/or academic lives. It should go, to a student that demonstrates strong leadership, good citizenship and above average academic responsibility. 
Examples of adversities and challenges might include but should not be limited to such things as: 
1. Financial adversity in the household
2. Single parent households
3. Health related adversities

Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship

​AMOUNT: $1,000
The Graybar Construction Trades Scholarship will be awarded to students who will enroll full time as undergraduate students in an accredited nonprofit two-year college or technical school program in the construction trades. Fifty students will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship that is renewable for one additional year.
Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must:
• be a graduating high school senior or have recently earned a high school equivalency diploma (GED, HiSET, TASC)
• plan to enroll full time in a nonprofit community college, technical school, trade school, vocational school or apprenticeship program in the United States of America
• intend to complete an associate degree, pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, or certificate program leading to work in the construction trades (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, welding)
• have achieved a minimum grade point average (G.P.A.) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, 456 on the GED, or 60 on the HiSET (at least an 8 on each subtest) or equivalent scores on a state-sanctioned test

Automobile Dealers Association of Greater KC Scholarship

The scholarship provides financial assistance to students graduating from public high schools in Johnson, Leavenworth or Wyandotte Counties in Kansas, and Jackson, Cass, Clay or Platte Counties in Missouri who are planning to pursue a degree in the automotive field.

NKCH Donor Council Annual Scholarship

The North Kansas City Hospital Donor Council is dedicated to increasing awareness of organ & tissue donation throughout the community.
Students will be evaluated on the following criteria:
* Students will complete a poster & request it be displayed at their school during the month of April, National Organ Donor Month. The theme of the poster must promote Organ Donation in our community. A picture of the poster must be submitted to the NKCH Donor Council with the dates it will be displayed. 
* Students will write a 500 word essay explaining the theme of their poster & what they can do, as an individual, to promote Organ Donation.

OCA St. Louis established the Youth Leadership Award to recognize and reward deserving Asian Pacific American high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate leadership and service within their school and community.

The William Grant Pinkard Scholarship Fund was named after a member of the Kansas-Missouri Chapter of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) who best exemplified the organization’s purpose and goals. William Grant Pinkard, II was a dedicated and active member.
Eligibility:
Candidates for an AABE scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria:
  1. Have, minimally, an overall “B” unweighted academic average (3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale);
  2. Be a graduating high school senior who has applied to one or more accredited colleges/universities;
  3. Plan to major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics fields in preparation for a career in the energy sector;
  4. Be a member of one of a class or group of individuals who has been historically underrepresented in the sciences, technology, engineering and math related disciplines, as described above; and

​Honeywell Black Achievers Society Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund

The Honeywell Black Achievers Law Enforcement Scholarship is in memory of Lt. Darwin DuPree, 2019 Kansas City Black Achiever. Darwin as a lieutenant at the Kansas City National Security Campus, managed by Honeywell and a former Kansas City Missouri Police Officer.
This scholarship is for a deserving African American student from the Kansas City area who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, public safety or cyber security. The recipient of this scholarship should exemplify Lt. Dupree’s passion for helping others and strong character.
Students eligible for this scholarship shall:
  1. Be an African American high school senior or current college student
  2. Have a current unweighted GPA of 3.25
  3. Be pursuing a degree in either criminal justice, law enforcement, public safety or cyber security

Missouri STEM Signing Day

The program offers $1,000 scholarships to a minimum of 10 students to help them pursue their STEM education goals at a 2-year, 4-year or technical college of their choice. The funds are unrestricted to be used for tuition, living expenses, books or technology.
2020 Eligibility & Application Process
  • High school students graduating in 2020 planning to pursue a STEM program at a 2-year, 4-year or technical college in the Fall of 2020 are eligible to apply.
  • Applications will be evaluated on the basis of passion for STEM learning, advancing society through STEM, high school activity involvement and scholarship.

To provide scholarships for college tuition and expenses to students who demonstrate an interest in developing their unique potential in and beyond the classroom and using their talents to foster the well-being of themselves and others. This scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years (8 semesters), pending requirements are met each semester.
Eligibility for this scholarship includes students who:
  1. Are high school seniors planning to enroll in a 4-year institution
  2. Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0
  3. Submit an ACT/SAT score
  4. Demonstrate an interest in developing their unique potential in and beyond the classroom

The Henry W. Bloch Scholars Program was created for local students with a determination to succeed, regardless of their finances, test scores or life circumstances. It does not require a certain GPA, ACT score or class rank to apply.

The Soroptimist International of Kansas City Northland Healthcare Scholarship provides an annual scholarship for a young woman going into her first year in a healthcare field.
To be eligible for a Soroptimist International of Kansas City Northland Healthcare Scholarship the student must meet the following requirements:
  1. Be a female graduating senior of a high school in the North Kansas City School District, Park Hill School District or Platte County R-III School District, or of Smithville High School or St. Pius X High School; and
  2. Be entering an institution of higher education and enrolling in a B.S. or above designated healthcare degree program.
The following information are required upon completion of the online application:
  1. Personal Essay (include information concerning your career plans, interests, and activities in school, church, community and listing any honors or awards and additional information that would be helpful) to the scholarship committee)
  2. Grade Transcript
  3. Schedule of Classes for your Senior Year
  4. Two Letters of Recommendation (letters may be from teachers, employers, or others; DO NOT submit letters from relatives, a pastor or your counselor

John F. and Margaret H. Armstrong Engineering Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 15th 
​AMOUNT: ​$3,000
The John F. and Margaret H. Armstrong Engineering Scholarship Fund will annually award scholarships to female students who will enroll full time as undergraduate engineering students. Each academically qualified recipient will demonstrate unmet financial need at the public two or four year college or university she attends in the United States or Canada.
Student Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must
  • identify as female,
  • be graduating or a recent graduate of high school
  • have achieved a 2.5 or better on a 4 point scale,
  • identify engineering as her intended college major and degree
  • plan to enroll full time in an accredited, public post-secondary two-year or four-year college, university in the United States of America, including its territories, or Canada
  • demonstrate unmet financial need as determined by standard methods of need analysis in practice at the time of selection. In general, unmet financial need will be defined as the difference between the cost of attendance and the sum of the family’s contribution and the student’s grant aid from other sources.
