NORTHLAND THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER - Volunteer Opportunities.
Volunteers are a vital part of Northland Therapeutic Riding Center’s therapeutic riding program, donating more than 2,500 hours each year. They say there is something magical about the barn and the camaraderie of the volunteers, staff, and riders. “It feels special”, volunteers say, “to be part of a program that makes such a difference in so many lives.”
NTRC needs you. Experience with horses is not necessary for all positions since many volunteer positions extend beyond the barn. You just have to want to help. Volunteers can assist as horse leaders or sidewalkers in the therapeutic riding classes, grooming and tacking of our special horses, or share your accounting, writing, photography, computer, or organizational skills with our center. Whatever your talent or interest, there is a perfect place for you at NTRC. Volunteer schedules are flexible. Volunteers need to be 15 years of age or older and in good physical condition to lead horses or sidewalk with students.
NTRC provides a three-hour volunteer orientation for all those interested in helping. You will learn about therapeutic riding, important safety procedures, and receive hands-on experience with our special horses.
For further information about volunteer opportunities, call 816-808-1106. Website: www.northlandtrc.org PO Box 1267 - Kearney, MO 64060
